| Our second annual re-union went extremely well. At one point over 100 WIWOLS were counted. The venue, new this year, was acknowledged as ideal by most notwithstanding a slight hiccup at the start. The whole event was seen as a resounding success. Our thanks go to BAe Heritage for their very generous support with which we were able to ease the pain on people's pockets, John Davies of Grub Street Publishers and Mike Rondot (who happened to be on site) also contributed to the occasion; our thanks go to them. In addition, £100 from the proceeds of the successful Lightning Boys book were tossed into the kitty. Copies of the book were on sale and the ubiquitous Mike picked up a few more signatures for his paintings! If you haven't already bought the book, then scramble!! It's a good read and will stimulate the old memory banks. It also might persuade you to write a piece for the second volume for which we need more contributors. It will be noted that there are no unhappy faces below! Keep an eye on this website for info on the 2012 gathering. If anyone wants a larger copy of the pictures below. email me with the photo number! |
